 Children in Need 

This years theme will be pajamas, please feel free to dress up - there will be a prize for the best costume.

Halloween Party at the Centre

On Friday 28Th of October the students & staff had their Halloween party, which was enjoyed by all who attended.In the morning There was a Drawing Competition, with prizes.






  




After Tea Break There was a Halloween quiz chaired by staff member Count Ian. In the afternoon a Mummy dressing Competition was held with teams of students & staff racing to dress someone as a mummy 

After which there was a Halloween Disco, complete with Spooky music.

Everyone had a wonderful time.

The Student Meetings

The student meetings to decide what sessions they want, are proceeding as planned and the feedback from the students is good, with most of them expressing their interest in what sessions they would like to remain and where they would like to go. As not all the meeting have occurred yet some have yet to make their choices.

Who can come? - Anyone who has a Learning disability/difficulty, family carers, support workers, or anyone that has an interest in Learning disability

How much does it cost? - Free!

What do we do?

• Share information about services and what's going on in the local  community
• Meet others
• Give our Opinions on issues that effect us

•  speak up for ourselves and for others.

New Football Season Starts on 7th September

The new football  season Canterbury City FC (Learning Difficulty Football) starts on Wednesday the 7th of September 2011 for registration evening/training.

The Times are 6pm -8pm

6pm -7pm for all league players

7pm -8pm for championship & Premiership players

The Venue is Simon Langton Grammar School for boys

Langton Lane, Nackington Road, Canterbury, CT4 7AS.

Formal Training Starts on the 14th of September then every Wednesday. Cost is £10 annual membership to be paid on registration plus £2.50 per session.

Canterbury DOS BBQ

Thursday Canterbury Day Opportunity Service had a BBQ, John & Che manned the BBQ Grill and cooked all the food, (burgers & Hot Dogs) which all the students thoroughly enjoyed. The Ladies of KanKater looked after the cake stand keeping a steady flow of cakes & drinks  available for those that wanted, Tabitha, Jessica, Kenny all said the cakes were lovely.

The band , The A2 Dance Band went down a storm with every up & dancing, Tammy Said Sue Danced with her & she had a great time. After which Dave ran the Ice Cream Stall, keeping everyone cool.
Chums ran a stall, name the Rabbit, which was a  success & Barbara & Nicky ran the Tombola, and  almost everyone left with a prize & was happy.

Overall the day was  wonderful & everybody had a fantastic time, and left in good spirits. Thank you to everyone that helped to make it an Awesome day

If It's a day you do not normally come, you can still join us, but if you need a carer- Please bring your carer with you & be aware that we will not be able to offer personal care facilities.

RED NOSE DAY (update)

THE DAY.

Red Nose Day was a resounding success, the amount raise was £393.35.

As well as the game of Bingo & the Comedy Quiz, We had a Pay to Pie - Dave and gary, 2 very brave and foolish members of the staff team 

     The students  had  a great time taking part in the events on the day and went home proud of themselves because of the money raised.
